The BMW is still for sale but with the Saab gone a new parking spot has opened up at my house. Tonight I am buying my neighbor’s 2002 Ford Ranger Edge.
Yes it’s a 3.0 (3.slow). Yes it’s a manual. Anything else ya’ll want to know?
159,000 miles. $1200.

4x2. It’s on a 4x4 frame though. It’s easy enough to swap and I might eventally.

If I could convince my wife to give up the Pilot I would probably get a small pickup and a station wagon. Unfortunately she thinks we’re obligated to hang onto the Pilot since her parents gave it to us.

I really wish I had a Ranger or S10 sometimes. I couldn’t bring myself to sell the M3 for one though.

From my recent research into Rangers I turned up a fun fact - the Taurus SHO 3.0 and 3.2 V6s have the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 3.slow...
Looks like a good, clean truck though. As long as there’s not a bunch of rust that is hidden in this photo, seems like a great deal!

It’s an NC truck so the frame checks out OK. The bed has surface rust from frequently carrying mulch. I plan on rolling on a bed liner after rust proofing it.

It has a few small problems. AC doesn’t work. CD player doesn’t work. And I found a heater hose leak while test driving it. $25 part. It was low on coolant (I put a half gallon in it) but it’s a Vulcan v6 so I’m not concerned. Didn’t overheat or anything.

The worm gear on the distributor will give up soon. Go buy a new distributor and either replace it now or keep it and a timing light in your truck. When it finally goes, this will leave you stranded.
This happened to me twice.
